keep up the great work Pierre. We out there who know first hand about this curse really appreciate your efforts !!
Doing a dry July as well, I know the pain lol. I find the NA stuff just makes me want a real beer even more. Keep up the good work, love the vids. 👍🏻
Great job on the videos. Really enjoying watching these everyday. How about a quick brewing equipment tour? Or brew shed tour for a video? Keep up the good work 🎉
Great Idea, i will do that in one of my future videos. Cheers
Nice and clear mate , looks good
Steady there son😅
Just a bit of fun😂
@@SimpleHomeBrew loved it cheers mate lol.
That last part was really unexpected 😅
Just found out a Lions Club International friend (from Wisconsin) who was visiting in Sydney passed out in the airport and is now in the hospital awaiting surgery on his intestine due to cancer. Great idea and cause! I wholey support your cause as it's what I do as a member of Lions Clubs International. Roar!
Went to donate and the site said I’m blocked. No idea as to why. That aside, good on ya for the volunteer work, Pierre.
Same for me as well on being blocked.
I checked the link, it's good. Try using the QR code! Or just go to the Dry July website and look up Simple Home Brew. Sorry about that it may be that you have an ad blocker that blocks it for some reason.
@@SimpleHomeBrew cleared my cache and tried again. No luck.
@@RabbiJesus is the website blocked?
@@SimpleHomeBrew i can connect to your link, but when I click the donate button it gives some blocked page. It’s probably because I’m on a phone.
While doing dry July, can you do some videos for us newbys to homebrew, what you have tried. What works and what doesn't. Like is RO water worth it? Water chemistry. Your favourite fermenter.
@@AndrewBeer-v8x sounds good, are you thinking in my Dry July videos?
Yes, would be good to get your personal thoughts on brewing gear.
@@AndrewBeer-v8x I will give it a go.
my favorite non alcoholic beer is Clausthaler Premium made in Germany. It's a tasty lager. Cheers 🍻 😀
the coopers and great northern non alcohol beers are good to. don't worry about the people unsubscribing I will still Watch it
you are such a champ Pierre
G’day Pierre, good vid mate. Just one thing if I may comment is that when you were transferring your cracked grains from the bag into the mash pipe there was a lot of fine grain dust blowing up past your face and into the surrounding areas of your brewery. First up it is not good for you to be breathing that dust and the second thing is that many overlook and that is that the dust can settle on other brewing equipment and surfaces and can be a major cause of an infection if the dust comes in contact with anything used during fermentation. I crush my grain and add it outside then wheel the mash tun/kettle inside for the brew. Or quite often I just mash and boil outside the brew house. This is not a criticism mate, just a bit of advice..keep up the good work.
@@geoffdickinson1310 great advice, I will have considered this for a time and am very much taking a lot more care these days.
just have some non alcohol beers there is few nice ones
That's a good drop Pierre
About to brew this one mate, can't wait now.
@@AngaryGranny you will love it, one of my favourites.
Thank you for the simple and clear instructions.. lost the proper one years ago.
Glad it helped 😀
Thanks for taking us along. For some reason, they canned the GABS event in Auckland. Always enjoyed it. Was that Gash I spotted? Cheers mate 🍻🍻
did you use a dark ot light dme?
I used Dry Malt Extract not Light Dry Malt Extract! I think I will use Dark DME next time to cover some of the dryness.
@@SimpleHomeBrew okay cool, I was asking as I'm doing my first stout at the moment and was wondering if dark or light dme would be better.
I went to a beer fest earlier this year, but it wasn't nearly as fancy as the GABS. Ours was under a bridge with a ton of local breweries. I'm debating on posting it later this year or just before the 2025 version.
Very cool!
Medicine? Probably put too much woodchips in it. Must have been a great experience for you.
I was great, I think I will do the three days next year I missed out on a lot
Can ya keg the cider bud and how long did ya let it mature for after fermentation was completed b4 getting the full taste bud
You certainly can! I kegged mine for about 8 months, it aged to it's best at around 2 months.
@@SimpleHomeBrew awesome thankyou bud
Would have like to know what your gravity readings was at the start and end. One thing i would have done is to filter it through a percolator coffee filter before bottling. Enjoy watching your video
Great suggestion! The OG and the FG are always the same with these kits. OG 1.110 - FG 0.996 as they are produced in high quantities they stay quite accurate. I found this in my first few and stopped bothering with it. If you filter the wine you will filter out all nice tannins and micro flavours. As well as that you introduce too much oxygen and that will speed up deterioration of said wine! Don't do it as the wine is very clear as it is! Thank you so very much for the feedback, it's so connecting. Cheers
Great video Pierre , awesome to see all the steps to making a wine
Glad you enjoyed it
Good video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like you had some bad medicine 😢
😬
It looks so good
It is very nice, thank you!
I really need to try one of these VineCo kits. Got a mate that's mad on red wine, that hates I do small batches 🤣
I didn't think much of their lower end kits but, these are great.
Great vid Pierre. Where's the link to purchase one? I can look it up but I'd rather use your link so you get something out of it. 👍
I will get that for you! www.kegland.com.au/products/vineco-signature-series-merlot-california-wine-making-kit?sca_ref=3994813.KoRyaKs7kB
Awesome stuff..I'll definitely be brewing one of these
I rate them as good as WineXperts kits they are great!
I put my hops in a mesh bag
@@brianhornsby954 I do as well, these days!
Hey, how strong is this beer, maybe I missed that part 🙈🍻
I did test it but< iGulu say it should be 4.1%
did you connect the CO2 cartridge? any tricks or tips learned about that?
I did not I have one but the thread is different, I am yet to try it with a compatible one.
Hi m8 i did the hazy muntons kit , which was great after 2 months in the bottle and was planning to do all the muntons range, but kegland has stopped muntons products , and to get from some where else, they have ridiculous shipping charges.
Yeah pity, I would love to try other kits as well. I will keep hunting and see what I will find. Cheers
I am about to make my first BR PA and will be kegging. Watching you video, I noticed that you didn't allow 92 grams of dextrose to assist carbonation in the keg. Do you normally do that?
No I don't need to as I carbonate using c02. When you do it this way you don't need to use sugars to gain carbonation.
Agree with the other commenter. You're drinking it too cold. Should be about 8-12 °C.
Good advice, I will do that!
Let it warm up in the glass a little and let us know the difference moving forward🍻
Will do.
great video cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
Looking forward to see your allgrain brewing.
Coming soon!
Hope you and Michael have a awesome time , enjoy mate.
Thanks 👍
Yao Pierre, Looking forward to the Gabs vlogs. The ending made me laugh, get a Sony mate...👍
I have a Sony and it's so out of date. I tried using the DJI Pocket 3 and really like it.
Will see you there Pierre . I am hoping to get into the city to get a good feed before going but i will be meeting a mate at the gate and will be there till around 4pm
Hey ya Pierre. With you extract vids I must admit to preferring the ones where you jazz em' up a bit, e.g. the stout with vanilla. Whether it be adding a small grain or hops tea at the beginning or doing a dry hop during/near end of ferment.
Yeah me too, I like adding extra bit as well and I think it makes for a good watch. Cheers
Have fun. I'll be on the 0711 Craftbierfestival in Stuttgart on Saturday.
Nice one!
Awesome stuff love it
Thank you! Cheers!
Hopefully see ya there enjoy
Did you make it to GABS ?
@SimpleHomeBrew nah unfortunately I was crook bud ..I was hoping I'd pull up in time , but nup only now starting to feel better again .
Good vid. Keeping it real. I just needed the bit about the washer placement inside the font.
Thank you, hope you got what you needed,.
I tried it and it tasted sour. I don't know where I went wrong.
It seems maybe you have somehow contaminated your brew with outside bacteria perhaps?
Great video mate. Just got my self a Black Rock cider after watching this. Thinking of brewing it under pressure, any thoughts on the PSI setting? Cheers
Nice one, I ferment at around 2-5 psi for the first two or three days, then take it to 15 psi for the rest of the time. This is meant to reduce the the advent of bad aromas and flavours.
Awesome thanks for the info Happy brewing!! 👍👍
